DIY Tin Can Candle

April 11, 2012

This morning as I fixed my coffee, I was trying to decide what to feature for the DIY Blog: What could be a project that  not only recycles an item, but recycles an easy to find house hold item?… And then it hit me. Right before my eyes laid a tin coffee can! Perfect, most people can find a tin can around the house and I’ve been in love with the Anthropologie Tin Can Candles since this past Christmas!

DIY Tin Can Candle

What you need:

  • Tin can
  • Soy wax, found at craft store
  • candle wicks, found at craft store
  • Optional: fragrance oil and chop sticks

How to:

  1. Melt the soy way as directed on the product’s instructions
  2. Place the candle wick in the middle of the tin can
  3. Optional: once soy wax is melted add fragrance and stir immediately with a chop stick
  4. Pour wax in to can, be sure the candle wick remains centered and straight
  5. Allow to harden

Now feel good about your GREEN craft and enjoy your lovely new candle,

Brit
