Well, we’re already half way through Summer which means three things: first off, it eventually will begin to cool down…( okay, the likelihood of this happening may be slim to nothing but its worth dreaming about). Secondly, school will be back in session S.O.O.N- so keep posted for back to school wardrobe tips, and last BUT certainly not Read the rest of this entry ?

Weekend Project: DIY Summer Clothes
July 30, 2012
First let me preface this blog with… I am NOT a fashionista! I will leave it to Brit to talk about all things high-end/designer fashion! But I LOVE summer clothes! To me, clothing is best when it is simple and comfortable. There’s nothing like throwing on a tank top, skirt and flip flops – an outfit I could wear all summer long! (Although, living in the South, allows me to pretty much wear flip flops year round – shh… don’t tell Brit!)
And while it’s always a treat to find designer duds at your Goodwill store, I think it’s (almost) just as fun to create your Read the rest of this entry ?

Weekend Project Idea: DIY White Decor
July 23, 2012I loved Brit’s posts last week focusing on how to dress using the color white! White has always been a favorite color of mine and I love both wearing it and using it in my home decor. She was so right when she described it as “simple” and “eloquent”. It just makes you feel clean and alive! And every DIYer should have (at least) one can of white spray paint in their bag of tricks! The possibilities are endless! Here are just a few weekend project ideas using white s
pray paint. We’d love to hear your DIY projects using white!
White on White
There’s nothing more striking than white on white. Grab some decorative frames from Goodwill, give ‘em a quick sand and then spray paint them white. Empty white frames look good on almost any color wall, but really make a statement on crisp white walls. (Click photo to read original blog post.) Read the rest of this entry ?

Weekend Project Giveaway: DIY Kids Chalkboard Table
July 16, 2012
While it is always fun to find a diamond in the rough while shopping at Goodwill, I prefer to make diamonds out of the rough things I find! A couple months back, I found a set of end tables at the Goodwill on Clements Ferry. They were pretty scratched up, but still very sturdy and well made – and only $24.99 for the set! With the pay and take discount, I received 25% off and spent just over $9 each! What a bargain! And we love the table so much we want to share it with one of you (read to the bottom for details)!
