From now until April I plan on giving you a behind the scenes look at some Goodwill finds that I will be hoarding in the Goodwill fashion room until the April 2nd Time Around Fashion Show with Keep Dorchester County Beautiful. Lucky you.
Today I headed out to the John’s Island Goodwill- I love all of our stores, but I really love John’s Island. Why you ask? Oh they just happen to some great items, especially designer ones.. with the price tags still on!
Check out my finds!

Did you know that Goodwill uses over 90% of revenue earned to support mission services. Last year we provided employment services to over 30,000 people and placed 560 people into new jobs in 2011. We are the largest employer of people with disabilities in the State of South Carolina. And we do it all through the support of our generous donors and shoppers! Thank you for letting us serve our community. This Thursday Every day we LOVE our supporters!

Have I told you lately how much I love Goodwill? Now that we have entered a new year, I have resolved to get organized by having a family calendar. I went to Staples to check out dry erase calendars – yuck! They started at $29.99!!! No thanks. I jumped on Pinterest when I got home to check out DIY dry erase calendars. I found some really cute inspiration using a framed calendar (see photo left). So, off to Goodwill for a frame! I figured it would take me a couple hours to recreate something like this and I could use it as a weekend project blog post. Bonus! As I was perusing the frame selection, what caught my eye!? So, the stores and I have started hoarding furs for a special event that Goodwill will be hosting in October! More details will be underway closer the the event date- but I can tell you one thing, we will have an amazing trunk show with a focus on vintage furs- just in time for the chillier days of November!
If you can recall yesterday’s post, furs are in style again this season as well as shawls!
I’d like to share with you a few pictures ( I don’t want to spoil the surprise so I’ll just showcase 3) of the beautiful vintage,-recycled-, fur shawls found at Goodwill!
Would you rock a vintage fur shawl?

Like most, the word sale sends me into a frenzy, especially if it comes after the word trunk or designer! Unfortunately, I missed out on the Memorial Day sales this year, how were they? Did you manage to score any awesome finds; brand new pumps, chic patio sets, that handsome wallet you’ve been eyeing for Father’s Day?
If I had been able to shop til I dropped this past weekend here are a few of the up-coming summer trend items I would have had my eye out for:
The Tunic
A great go to piece for this summer is the Tunic. Wear with a cute pair of shorts or throw over your suit for a breezy summer look!
Bright Boat Shoes
Great for him or her, bright boat shoes gives an edge to a classic nautical inspired look. Convenient and easy to slip on, you’re ready to sail or shop, whichever you prefer!
Printed Shorts
From ikat to paisley, printed shorts are all the rage this summer. Dress it up with a neutral silk bow blouse and heels or wear it down with espadrilles and a tank, the possibilities are endless!
What was your favorite Memorial Day find?!

Last week was crazy, but we had a great time working with Keep Dorchester County Beautiful on the 2nd Time Around Fashion Show! The event offered delicious hors d’oeuvres catered by Goodwill’s Commercial Services, showcased a runway of high-end fashions found at Goodwill, and to top it off there was a fabulous trunk show which provided guests an opportunity to buy handpicked designer label merchandise at Goodwill prices!
Be sure to check out pictures of the night below, and be prepared to check it out next year!

Wow, we had an amazing time at the Southern Bridal Show! Thanks to everyone who stopped by! We loved being able to showcase our beautiful dresses and we even had the great honor of helping a few brides find their perfect dress; tear::
The one line that was continuously repeated from our end was ” Yes, the dress is from Goodwill!”. We had so many shoppers who could not believe you could find such gorgeous gowns from Goodwill…but it’s true you really can!
If you weren’t able to make it out this Sunday here’s what you missed
