Is it already August? This summer is flying by! I know I should probably be focusing on back-to-school ideas, but my mind is still at the beach! I love the relaxed and natural beauty of the beach – and love to bring that look inside! While it is always fun to find a diamond in the rough while shopping at Goodwill, I prefer to make diamonds out of the rough things I find! A couple months back, I found a set of end tables at the Goodwill on Clements Ferry. They were pretty scratched up, but still very sturdy and well made – and only $24.99 for the set! With the pay and take discount, I received 25% off and spent just over $9 each! What a bargain! And we love the table so much we want to share it with one of you (read to the bottom for details)! Things We “Like” Thursday
June 28, 2012This is the time of year we break out our red, white and blue and feel a little more pride in our country. And on July 4th, in the midst of hot dogs and fireworks, we take the time to honor our nation and celebrate our freedoms! And what better way to commemorate this, by partying in one of the most patriotic places in Charleston… So, this Thursday (and on next Wednesday) we REALLY like Patriot’s Point!
Patriot’s Point, located right over the bridge in Mt. Pleasant, is home of Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum and a fleet of National Historic Landmark ships, including the USS YORKTOWN, USS LAFFEY and USS CLAMAGORE, Cold War Memorial and the only Vietnam Support Base Camp in the U.S.
Patriot’s Point is also hosting what is expected to be “the biggest and best” 4th of July celebration in the Lowcountry! And this year, for the first year, they are hosting a party on the Flight Deck of the USS Yorktown! Unfortunately, tickets for the party have been sold out for a week or so, but fortunately for you, we have 4 tickets to give away to one of our lucky readers!
